I’m moving to the Santa Cruz County but i dont know which is the best place to live with me being a single mother of a 9yr old?

LIbrasweets, Curt Abramson from Bailey Properties in Santa Cruz here. My opinion would be to look first at schools for your child. 2 places that get good marks for schools are Aptos and Scotts Valley. Both are more like bedroom communities than Santa Cruz. They tend to be quieter, have more kid-oriented activities, etc. On the other hand, they are both a bit spread out, so you may find yourself and your child traveling more for some of your activities.
I’d also suggest you think about where you will be working or spending most of your time. As a single parent, it’s usually important to be available to your child easily if they have an issue; if you live close to your work or school, that makes it easier. There are some great neighborhoods in Santa Cruz, too, so don’t be afraid to consider those if that will work best for you logistically.
The mountain areas such as Felton, Ben Lomond and Boulder Creek can be challenging, with winter weather being a cause of power outages and road closures.
I’ve raised 3 kids in Aptos, so I’m biased, but almost anywhere, there are great places to live. It comes down to the neighborhood most of the time. If you would like more detail, you can contact me via my website, below. Good luck, and welcome to Santa Cruz!

I’m thinking about moving to Mass, whats the best city? What area has the most shops/restaurants/closest thing to city life? What about the best place for affordable housing for a law student?

Well there aren’t many cities in Mass.
There’s Springfield, Fall River/New Bedford, Lowell but they are kinda ghetto and I don’t think they have decent law schools.

There’s Worcester- where I am from- which is in the central Mass pretty much right in the middle of the state and it’s nothing fantastic but it does have alot more shops/restaurants and things to do than the other cities since it’s so big. It’s the 3rd largest city in all of New England (behind Boston & Providence). There are 12 colleges there, so that adds to the hustle & bustle and makes it pretty affordable to live. Now I mean affordable Massachseutts style- which is an apartment for $1,000/mo (2 bedroom) or houses for 250k.

Boston would be my top choice for you but ONLY because of the high quality law schools that are present there. The costs are absolutely rediculous, apartments are well over $1,000 (1 bedroom) and if you try to live just outside the city you will still pay insane rent but also endure the hassles of taking the T into the city- not worth it! If you can afford Boston, then it’s a great place with so much to do, restaurants, shops, bars, aquarium, sports, etc.
But check out the schools, Worcester might be a good spot for you too if you don’t have load of money lol

With so many cities in this country, wich will be the best to live in? about its people, its streets, its views, its prices, its culture, etc…

1. Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN
The Twin Cities are so beautiful and have so much to offer. For cities of their size, the traffic isn’t too bad, there are professional baseball, football, hockey and basketball teams (not to mention TONS of college teams), lots of entertainment (plays, museums, shopping, etc.) and nice weather (all 4 seasons). It’s a nice place to raise a family or just start out your career.

2. Phoenix, AZ
Ever since I visited Phoenix earlier this year, I’ve been hooked. It’s a city with a beautiful backdrop. Sure, it’s really hot in the summer, but there’s always a warm winter to look forward to, and there’s no humidity! Phoenix has lots of sports teams as well (professional baseball, football, hockey and basketball), college teams and it’s home to a good handful of MLB teams for Spring Training.

My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving after we are married and we are trying to decide which city in Colorado would be the best to live in. We are looking for a place that the cost of living is not outrageous and has a good job market (preferably in health care). We are looking for a place that is pretty and scenic. Also somewhere that has things to do and places to go (within reasonable distance). And good place to raise a family. Any answers would be great. Thanks!

Thanks!

I have to go with Colorado Springs. It’s definitely pretty and scenic– nestled right up against the foothills and Pikes Peak. Gorgeous views everywhere you go. Tons of hiking and biking trails.

We love living here.

Plenty of things to do in town, and within 5-30 minutes there is lots more: state parks, reservoirs, mountain towns, etc.

The cost of living is also reasonable, and I think health care (fortunately) has a good market everywhere now-a-days.

Good luck!

Can anyone tell me which U.S. city is right for me? I want a place with NO snow or very little snow in the winter and has a great public transit system so I can live without a car. Somehow I developed a fear for driving after some drunk driver crashed into me last year. So what is the best city for me? THANK U!

Which is the best place to live at in New Hampshire?
New Castle, Rye, or Hampton Falls?
also which town and city have the best shopping places there?
Thank you. =)

Greetings Bliss, New Castle has the highest per capita $$$ in the state, it’s real easy to spend 1,000,000 for a home. The up side to that is there tax rate is very low. They are next to Portsmouth as well as retail mecca Kittery Maine (known for outlet stores). Rye is south of Portsmouth and is also a desirable town to live in . Shopping in Portsmouth, as well as close to Kittery Maine. Hampton Falls is also an upscale traditional New England town, not much in there commercial district but just north of Seabrook NH which over the last 10 years has a huge commercial area. They have just about every big box store you can think of. They are all nice places to live.

I’m gonna move to the US so soon and I’m so confused, because I don’t know what’s the best city to live in.
NYC, is very expensive and I can’t afford it, so I wanna help to select a big city to live in.
Chicago, LA, Philadelphia or Boston.
I need serious answers and you can recommend me a city which I didn’t mention above.
Please, help and serious answers
Climate, Crime rate, Cost of living, Health, Education, Economy

You have to define what you consider ‘best’. What is important to you? Do you like the hustle and bustle of city life, or somewhere more country-side? What job are you intending to do? (some cities have more openings in your field than others). Write down 3-4 most important things about where you will live, and look for a city that offers those.

San Diego is a pretty nice place to live, West virginia seems to have a stronger job market than other places.
